LITERACY
Literacy can be used in a variety of manners such as spoken, written and read across all languages. It can be utilised to set personal and relevant goals, to socialise across all ranges of cultures and express opinions based on a variety of separate topics. An example of literacy is spoken literacy. This can be used to discuss opinions and socialise verbally and a further improvement of this will allow to discuss more in-depth and serious topics. Another example is written literacy. This is required to express text in different manners such as an English essay or a Science practical, each type of tasks are required to be written in separate manners to describe the main topic in the most effective way.
NUMERACY
Understanding and learning Numeracy is key into exploring new future goals and capacities. Numeracy displays many different pathways on offer which provides plenty of different possible capabilities. Numeracy is a personal strength of mine and I have already explored into some of the possible capabilities. An example of this is my Movie Analysis D.I. This required many forms of graphing including histograms, frequency tables and box plots which are all examples of numeracy techniques. These numeracy techniques are only effective for analysing data so it must be understood that only certain forms of methods are used for specific types of numeracy.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY CAPABILITY
Technology is a huge vocal point in modern day lives. Technology allows to make peoples lives easier and less stressful. An example of this is Programming. Programming includes creating functions and instructing a device to do what you wish. This is done by communication through the device to allow it to perform actions which includes things as simple as displaying text or providing a problem. This can be extremely useful for performing things such as creating a survey. This can be formed so the individuals can perform this with a couple of clicks rather than asking multiple individuals verbally which requires a lot more effort to accomplish.

GOALS
Literacy and Numeracy
Short Term:
Literacy - A big vocal point in literacy is vocabulary so for this specific short term goal, I have constructed that for the next 2 weeks when term 3 begins, I will assign myself to research any 3 words in the English dictionary that I am unfamiliar with for 5 days a week over a 2 week period. This will provide me with a short spurt in my vocabulary which should improve my performance in all subjects that involve using the language.
As my second short term goal, I have decided to link this with my first goal. For the next 5 nights over the next 2 week period after I have completed the first short term goal, I will revise over the words and each definition. This allows me to properly remember these words and so I never forget them as leaving the first short term goal as it is, it will be likely I would forget a majority of the words so the construction of this short term goal will allow me to stack a chunk of new words in my head to give a significant boost to my vocabulary.
Numeracy - As my previous results for my last couple mathematics tests have been slightly under what I have wished, I decided to create these goals to exceed my expectations. As my first short term goal, this will come essential for future years in numeracy but this will include learning 1 function on the graphics calculator for 5 nights over a 2 week period. This plays a similar role with the literacy goal as I am expanding my knowledge in the specific category which is the main idea at the end of the day.
As my second short term goal, it also links to the first short term goal involving numeracy which will be to perform exercises involving the functions that have been learnt. This will once again be performed for 2 weeks and after these 4 weeks of research and exercises, my knowledge of numeracy will be greatly improved and will come useful in years to come.
Long Term:
Literacy - My long term goal, I aim to improve my general knowledge of vocabulary so I have constructed to read and finish a book for the next 2 terms until the end of the year. I will read my book for half an hour for 5 nights every week so I can achieve the final goal. I believe this will significantly improve my vocabulary and provide me with a stepping stone for year 11.
Numeracy - My long-term goal is to improve my numeracy in order to prepare myself for year 11. The goal that has been formed that will last until the end of the school year will be to revise on the present maths topic for a full hour every weekend. This will include completing questions from my personal exercise book relating to the specific topic. As there are many topics involving numeracy, it is very easy for a couple to be forgotten so this consistent revision will allow each learnt maths topic to be memorable for year 11 and future years to come.
